Refunds & Returns Policy – Skyline Textiles Sri Lanka

Effective Date: 17 October 2026
Last Updated: 17 October 2026

At Skyline Textiles (Private) Limited, we are committed to supplying quality wholesale fabrics and textile materials to garment manufacturers, clothing brands, apparel businesses, textile traders, and resellers throughout Sri Lanka.

We understand the importance of consistent fabric quality, accurate specifications, and reliable supply for commercial textile operations. This Refunds & Returns Policy explains the conditions applicable to wholesale fabric purchases, product inspections, returns, exchanges, refunds, and credit transactions.

Skyline Textiles operates exclusively as a physical wholesale fabric supplier. Our website, www.skylinetextiles.com, serves as an online product catalogue for viewing available textile materials, specifications, and designs.

All purchases must be completed in person at our showroom. We do not accept online orders or website payments.

This Policy applies to wholesale purchases made from Skyline Textiles, including fully paid purchases and transactions made under an approved Credit Agreement.

1. General Wholesale Returns Policy

All fabric purchases from Skyline Textiles are wholesale transactions intended for commercial use, garment production, tailoring businesses, clothing brands, or resale.

Due to the nature of wholesale textile trading, customers are encouraged to carefully inspect and confirm their selected materials before completing a purchase.

Wholesale purchases are generally considered final, except where a return or exchange is approved by Skyline Textiles or where a valid claim arises from defective, incorrectly supplied, or non-conforming goods.

Returns and exchanges requested solely due to a change of mind, incorrect customer selection, excess quantities, unsold inventory, or changes in business requirements are not ordinarily accepted.

Any voluntary return or exchange is subject to management approval, the condition of the materials, the applicable sales invoice, and the terms outlined in this Policy.

Nothing in this Policy limits rights or remedies available under applicable Sri Lankan law.

2. Return and Exchange Eligibility

2.1 Voluntary Returns and Exchanges

Customers may submit a request for a voluntary return or exchange within 21 days of the invoice date.

This period allows eligible requests to be considered but does not guarantee approval.

For a voluntary return or exchange to be considered:

  1. The fabric must be unused, unwashed, and in its original condition.

  2. The material must not have been cut, stitched, dyed, printed, or otherwise altered after purchase.

  3. The fabric must be free from stains, damage, contamination, and signs of improper storage or handling.

  4. Original product identification, roll labels, and packaging should be retained where applicable.

  5. The customer must provide the original sales invoice or acceptable proof of purchase.

  6. The goods must be available for inspection by Skyline Textiles.

Approval depends on the nature of the request, the condition of the goods, and the relevant transaction terms.

Where a voluntary exchange is approved, the customer may be offered a replacement material or an agreed store-credit adjustment.

Cash refunds are not ordinarily provided for voluntary returns involving non-defective goods.

2.2 Defective or Incorrectly Supplied Goods

Requests involving genuine manufacturing defects, incorrect products, or materials that do not conform to agreed specifications will be assessed separately from voluntary returns.

Such claims are not automatically rejected because the customer has exceeded the discretionary 21-day request period.

Customers should notify Skyline Textiles promptly after discovering a suspected defect or discrepancy.

The resolution of a valid claim will depend on the circumstances, supporting evidence, relevant contractual terms, and applicable Sri Lankan law.

3. Non-Returnable and Non-Exchangeable Goods

The following materials are generally not eligible for voluntary returns or exchanges:

  • Custom-cut fabrics: Materials cut or prepared according to a customer's specific measurements or requirements.

  • Processed fabrics: Materials that have been washed, dyed, printed, stitched, embroidered, heat-treated, or otherwise processed after purchase.

  • Used or damaged materials: Fabrics showing signs of use, stains, damage, contamination, or improper handling after delivery.

  • Special-order fabrics: Materials specifically sourced, manufactured, or prepared according to an individual customer's agreed requirements.

  • Clearance and final-sale fabrics: Materials expressly identified and sold as clearance or final-sale stock.

  • Altered or incomplete products: Goods that have been modified or are no longer in their original saleable condition.

These restrictions apply to voluntary returns and exchanges. They do not automatically exclude genuine claims involving manufacturing defects, incorrect supply, misrepresentation, or failure to meet agreed specifications.

4. Fabric Quality and Product Specifications

Skyline Textiles supplies various wholesale textile materials, including denim, twill, linen, viscose, and other woven and knitted fabrics.

Customers are encouraged to verify the suitability of their selected fabrics for their intended commercial applications.

4.1 Fabric Inspection Before Purchase

Before completing a purchase, customers should confirm the relevant product specifications, including:

  • Fabric type and construction.

  • Fibre composition, where specified.

  • Fabric weight, including GSM or ounce measurements.

  • Fabric width.

  • Colour, shade, and design.

  • Stretch characteristics, where applicable.

  • Required quantity and unit of measurement.

  • Any agreed production or quality specifications.

Customers should raise any concerns about material suitability or specifications before confirming their purchase.

4.2 Colour and Shade Variations

Textile materials may have slight shade variations between different production batches.

Colours displayed on the Skyline Textiles website may also differ slightly from the physical fabric due to screen settings, photography, and lighting conditions.

Customers are encouraged to inspect physical fabric samples where exact colour matching is important.

Material differences from expressly agreed colour or shade specifications will be assessed based on the relevant agreement and supporting evidence.

4.3 Fabric Weight and Width

Fabric weight and width may be affected by manufacturing and finishing processes.

Any reported discrepancy will be evaluated against the agreed specifications, relevant measurement methods, and applicable manufacturing tolerances.

4.4 Shrinkage, Stretch and Colourfastness

Shrinkage, elasticity, colourfastness, and other performance characteristics can vary depending on fabric composition, construction, and finishing.

Wholesale customers are encouraged to conduct appropriate sample testing before undertaking large-scale cutting, washing, dyeing, or garment manufacturing.

Where specific performance requirements are essential, they should be communicated and agreed before purchase.

5. Damaged, Defective, Incorrect or Missing Goods

Customers are requested to inspect their purchased fabrics upon collection or delivery.

If a customer identifies an issue involving damaged, defective, incorrect, or missing goods, they should contact Skyline Textiles as soon as reasonably possible.

5.1 Reporting Timeframe

Customers are requested to report visible defects, incorrect goods, or apparent delivery discrepancies within 48 hours of receiving the materials.

This allows our team to investigate the matter promptly and, where necessary, coordinate with the relevant transportation provider.

The 48-hour period is a recommended reporting timeframe and does not automatically invalidate legitimate claims involving hidden manufacturing defects or other rights available under applicable law.

5.2 Information Required

When reporting an issue, customers should provide:

  1. Sales invoice number and date.

  2. Customer or company name.

  3. Description of the affected fabric.

  4. Details of the defect, damage, or discrepancy.

  5. Clear photographs or videos showing the issue.

  6. Fabric roll numbers, labels, or batch identification where available.

  7. The approximate quantity of affected material.

Skyline Textiles may request additional information, fabric samples, or physical inspection before determining the appropriate resolution.

5.3 Inspection and Verification

All reported defects and discrepancies are subject to reasonable assessment.

The assessment may consider the original product specifications, condition of the goods, manufacturing characteristics, customer handling, storage, transportation, and any subsequent processing.

Where a genuine manufacturing defect or supply error is confirmed, Skyline Textiles will work towards an appropriate resolution.

6. Fabric Defects Discovered During Production

Wholesale fabrics are frequently purchased for garment manufacturing, tailoring, clothing production, and resale.

Customers are strongly encouraged to inspect the material before cutting or processing it.

If a suspected manufacturing defect becomes apparent during production, the customer should:

  1. Stop processing the affected fabric where reasonably possible.

  2. Preserve the remaining material and relevant fabric identification.

  3. Document the issue using photographs, videos, or samples.

  4. Contact Skyline Textiles promptly.

  5. Allow reasonable inspection of the affected material.

Claims involving processed or partially used fabrics may require additional technical assessment to establish whether the defect existed before processing or resulted from subsequent handling or manufacturing operations.

Skyline Textiles will not ordinarily accept responsibility for damage caused by unsuitable washing methods, incorrect processing, improper storage, or other actions unrelated to the condition of the fabric when supplied.

However, genuine pre-existing defects will be reviewed based on the available evidence, agreed specifications, and applicable legal obligations.

7. Refunds, Replacements and Exchanges

7.1 Refund Eligibility

Refunds may be approved where:

  • A genuine manufacturing defect is verified.

  • Incorrect textile materials were supplied.

  • The delivered goods materially differ from the agreed specifications.

  • Another circumstance requires an appropriate refund under the applicable agreement or Sri Lankan law.

A request for a refund does not guarantee approval until the relevant claim has been assessed.

7.2 Available Resolutions

Depending on the nature of the issue, an approved resolution may include:

  • Replacement with the same or equivalent fabric, subject to availability.

  • Exchange for another suitable material with an agreed value adjustment.

  • Refund of the eligible purchase amount.

  • A credit note or approved adjustment against the relevant invoice or customer account.

Where only a portion of the supplied fabric is affected, the proposed resolution may relate to the verified affected quantity, subject to the nature of the defect and any applicable legal rights.

7.3 Refund Processing

Approved refunds will be processed after the relevant inspection and verification have been completed.

Refund arrangements will be communicated directly to the customer and handled according to the original payment method, transaction circumstances, and applicable requirements.

Any approved refund involving a credit transaction will also be subject to the credit-account reconciliation provisions outlined below.

7.4 Product Availability

Where an approved replacement material is unavailable, Skyline Textiles will discuss a suitable alternative resolution with the customer.

Any voluntary exchange for a different fabric will be subject to stock availability and agreement regarding differences in value.

8. Returns and Refunds for Credit Purchases

Skyline Textiles may provide wholesale fabrics on credit to eligible customers under an approved Credit Agreement.

Credit transactions are governed by the relevant sales invoice, applicable Credit Agreement, and agreed commercial terms.

8.1 Applicable Credit Terms

Customers purchasing goods on credit must comply with the agreed payment period stated in their Credit Agreement.

The credit period is calculated from the invoice date, as specified in the applicable agreement.

The return conditions stated in the Return Policy section of the relevant sales invoice apply to that credit transaction, subject to applicable legal requirements.

8.2 Returns Against Outstanding Credit Invoices

Goods purchased on credit are subject to the applicable return eligibility requirements and invoice-specific conditions.

Submitting a return request does not automatically cancel the sale, reduce the outstanding invoice balance, or suspend the agreed payment obligations.

Customers must obtain approval from Skyline Textiles before treating any goods as returned or adjusting the corresponding payment.

8.3 Approved Credit Returns

Where a return involving an outstanding credit invoice is approved, Skyline Textiles will determine the accepted return value and record the appropriate adjustment.

A credit note or equivalent accounting adjustment may be issued and applied to the relevant invoice or customer account.

The revised outstanding balance will be confirmed after the approved adjustment has been recorded.

Customers must not independently deduct unapproved return values from outstanding invoice payments.

8.4 Partially Paid Credit Invoices

Where a customer has already made a partial payment, the approved return value will be reconciled against the relevant invoice and amounts received.

Depending on the transaction, this may result in a reduction of the unpaid balance, an approved account credit, or a refund of any eligible excess payment.

8.5 Fully Settled Credit Invoices

Where a credit invoice has been fully paid and a return is subsequently approved, the applicable refund, credit note, or other resolution will be determined according to the accepted return value, the agreed terms, and applicable law.

8.6 Credit Payment Obligations

Customers are required to settle all outstanding amounts within the credit period agreed in the relevant Credit Agreement.

A return request, product-quality complaint, or pending inspection does not automatically extend the agreed credit period.

Any revised payment arrangement must be agreed with Skyline Textiles.

Customers who anticipate a payment delay are encouraged to inform Skyline Textiles as early as possible so that an appropriate arrangement can be discussed.

8.7 Ownership of Goods

In accordance with Skyline Textiles' Credit Agreement, ownership of goods corresponding to the unpaid value remains with Skyline Textiles until the full invoice amount has been paid.

Any approved return involving unpaid goods will be reconciled with the applicable ownership provisions and the customer's outstanding financial obligations.

8.8 Delivery and Risk

The Credit Agreement provides that risk of loss or damage transfers to the Buyer upon delivery.

Any claim involving transportation damage, loss, or discrepancies will be assessed in accordance with the relevant delivery arrangement, contractual terms, and applicable law.

9. Return Procedure

Customers wishing to request a return, exchange, or refund should follow the procedure below.

Step 1 – Contact Skyline Textiles

Contact our team through our official telephone numbers or email address.

Provide the relevant sales invoice number and a clear explanation of the request.

Step 2 – Submit Supporting Information

Where applicable, provide photographs, videos, fabric specifications, roll identification, or other information necessary to evaluate the claim.

Step 3 – Product Inspection

Skyline Textiles will review the submitted information and may request that the material be presented at the showroom for physical inspection.

For larger quantities, alternative inspection arrangements may be discussed where appropriate.

Step 4 – Return Approval

Where a return is approved, the customer will be informed of the accepted quantity, conditions, and applicable return procedure.

Customers should not dispatch or return materials without first confirming the arrangements with Skyline Textiles.

Step 5 – Resolution

Following verification and acceptance of the returned material, Skyline Textiles will process the agreed resolution.

This may involve a replacement, exchange, refund, credit note, or adjustment to an outstanding invoice.

10. Transportation and Return Delivery Costs

All original wholesale purchases must be completed at the Skyline Textiles showroom.

After purchase, customers may collect their goods directly or arrange transportation through a third-party courier, PickMe, Uber, or another suitable transport provider.

10.1 Voluntary Returns

Where a voluntary return or exchange is approved, the customer will ordinarily be responsible for the associated transportation expenses unless otherwise agreed.

10.2 Defective or Incorrect Goods

For approved claims involving defective or incorrectly supplied goods, Skyline Textiles will assess the appropriate return transportation arrangements and responsibility for reasonable costs.

These arrangements will depend on the nature of the issue, the agreed delivery method, and applicable law.

10.3 Third-Party Transportation

Customers using independent transportation services should retain relevant delivery records and take reasonable precautions to protect the materials during transportation.

For further information, please refer to our Shipping Policy and Shipping Information – Sri Lanka pages.

11. Responsibilities of Wholesale Customers

Customers purchasing fabrics for commercial use are responsible for selecting materials suitable for their intended operations.

Before purchasing or commencing production, customers are encouraged to:

  • Verify fabric specifications and quantities.

  • Inspect colours, designs, and relevant fabric characteristics.

  • Confirm any special requirements before purchase.

  • Conduct sample testing where appropriate.

  • Maintain purchase invoices and product identification records.

  • Store and handle materials appropriately.

  • Report suspected defects promptly.

Skyline Textiles will review legitimate quality concerns fairly, taking into consideration the agreed product specifications, condition of the materials, and supporting evidence.

Any claim for additional losses arising from manufacturing, resale, processing, or other commercial activities will be assessed according to the relevant agreement and applicable Sri Lankan law.

12. Important Clarifications

12.1 No Online Purchases

Skyline Textiles does not accept online orders or website payments.

All purchases are completed physically at our showroom. Product information displayed on the website is provided for catalogue and reference purposes.

12.2 No Automatic Return Entitlement

The acceptance of a voluntary return or exchange is not automatic.

Each request is assessed according to the applicable transaction terms and the condition of the materials.

12.3 Invoice-Specific Conditions

Where additional or specific return conditions have been agreed and recorded on a sales invoice, those terms will apply to the relevant transaction, subject to applicable law.

12.4 Proof of Purchase

The original invoice or another acceptable transaction record may be required to verify the purchase, customer details, and relevant return conditions.

13. Frequently Asked Questions

Can I return wholesale fabric after purchasing it?

Wholesale fabric purchases are generally final. However, eligible voluntary exchange requests may be reviewed, and genuine manufacturing defects or incorrect supply will be assessed separately.

How many days do I have to request an exchange?

Requests for discretionary exchanges should be submitted within 21 days of the invoice date. Approval is not guaranteed and is subject to the conditions of this Policy.

Can I return fabric that has been cut or processed?

Fabrics cut, washed, dyed, stitched, or otherwise processed after purchase are generally not eligible for voluntary returns. Claims involving genuine pre-existing manufacturing defects will be assessed separately.

What should I do if I discover defective denim or twill fabric?

Contact Skyline Textiles promptly with the relevant invoice details, photographs, and product information. Where possible, stop processing the affected material until the issue can be assessed.

Are credit purchases eligible for returns?

Eligible credit-purchase returns may be considered under the relevant sales invoice, Credit Agreement, and this Policy.

Will an approved return reduce my outstanding credit invoice?

Where a return is approved, the accepted value may be applied through a documented credit note or invoice adjustment. Unapproved return requests do not automatically reduce outstanding balances.

Can I receive a cash refund for fabric purchased on credit?

Refund arrangements depend on the payment status of the invoice and the approved return value. Outstanding balances will first be considered during the reconciliation process.

Can I buy fabric online and request a refund?

No. Our website functions exclusively as a wholesale fabric catalogue. All purchases must be completed at our physical showroom.

14. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

This Refunds & Returns Policy is governed by the applicable laws of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka.

Skyline Textiles aims to resolve customer concerns through direct communication, fair assessment, and reasonable commercial arrangements.

Where a disagreement arises, the parties are encouraged to attempt an amicable resolution before pursuing formal legal remedies.

Nothing in this Policy is intended to exclude, restrict, or override rights or remedies that cannot lawfully be excluded under Sri Lankan law.

15. Changes to This Policy

Skyline Textiles reserves the right to review and update this Policy to reflect changes in business practices, product offerings, commercial arrangements, and applicable legal requirements.

Updated versions will be published on our official website with the relevant revision date.

Changes to this Policy will not automatically amend previously agreed transaction-specific terms.
